About the rhombus calculator
A rhombus is a parallelogram with four equal sides. Its diagonals cross at right angles and bisect each other, so the area is simply half their product. Any two independent values (side and angle, both diagonals, or area and side), define it.
Formulas
| Area | K = pq/2 = a·h = a²·sin θ |
| Diagonals | p = 2a·cos(θ/2), q = 2a·sin(θ/2) |
| Side | a = √(p² + q²)/2 |
Frequently asked questions
How do I find the area of a rhombus from its diagonals?
K = p·q/2. Diagonals of 8 and 6 give an area of 24.
How do I find the side from the diagonals?
The half-diagonals form a right triangle with the side: a = √((p/2)² + (q/2)²).
