About the kite calculator

A kite has two pairs of equal adjacent sides and one line of symmetry, the diagonal p. Its diagonals are perpendicular, so like a rhombus the area is half their product. This calculator assumes a convex kite.

Formulas

AreaK = pq/2
PerimeterP = 2(a + b)
Symmetry diagonalp = √(a² − q²/4) + √(b² − q²/4)

Frequently asked questions

What is the area of a kite?

Half the product of the diagonals: K = p·q/2.
